Air Europa – Madrid To Barcelona Flight

Air Europa fly from Madrid airport, terminal 4. They land at terminal B at Barcelona. You can check in either at the airport, or at Nuevos Ministerios, which is also accessible on the metro.

The flights depart daily and the duration is just 1 hour 15 minutes, and they operate frequently throughout the day. You can also buy food on board.

If you prefer to book over the phone you can do so by calling Tel: (0034) 90 240 1501. Ticket prices vary, but as a rough guide you can expect to pay anything from 94 euros to 320 euros return plus a 12 euro service charge.


Vueling – Madrid To Barcelona Flight

Vueling fly from terminal 4 at Madrid airport, and into terminal B at Barcelona. The flight duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes. You can choose from 2 flights every day of the week. Always check the website for flight times.

With Vueling you can buy food on board during the flight.

Prices of tickets do vary but as a guide, the cheapest one way price from Madrid to Barcelona is from 35 euros, and the most expensive is 100 euros. During peak times prices will go up.

Booking online is the easiest option. Especially as you can even choose your seat. Once at the airport, remember that check in closes 30 minutes before departure time.

Iberia

You have two choices if you want to fly from Madrid to Barcelona with Iberia. They offer a shuttle service, as well as the normal flights. The shuttle costs more, but check in is quicker, and it runs more often.

Iberia’s standard flights leave from Barcelona terminal B and arrive at Madrid terminal 4. They run daily starting at 08:00 until 23:20, and flight duration is 1 hour 10 minutes.

There is an a la carte menu for economy travellers, and business class travellers can enjoy a recently prepared dish and wine. For special requirements such as kosher food you can book it 24 hours before the flight.

The most economical fair available at the time of writing (September 2008) was 65 euros one way (not inc taxes) and the highest fair 161 one way.

Iberia Shuttle

The air shuttle ticket, (as a guide) cost you roughly 348. The shuttle leaves from Madrid terminal 4, and arrives to Barcelona terminal C.
The great thing is that this is a walk on flight and check in stays open until 20 minutes before departure. There are 2 to 3 an hour between 06:45 and 22:45.

Spanair

Spanair also operate daily flights between Barcelona and Madrid.

To give you an idea of prices, a one way ticket can be purchased from 29 euros up to 166 euros for a weekend flight. They also offer an online check in service which is quite handy.

The flights begin from 06:55 – 22:00 and they depart from Madrid terminal 2. If you are travelling Business class, the last check in time is 30 minutes before your flight or 60 minutes before if you are economy class. Take advantage of the ‘easy check in’ machines you can check in up to 30 minutes before. Or, to save time, you can check in at Nuevos Ministerios.

If you ask, no later than 48 hours before your flight, you can have a special meal.
During your flight you can choose from the on board menu which includes a plat of the day and some other snacks and sandwiches.
